Ingredients:
5 cups chicken broth, plus more if you like it with more broth
1-pound dried split peas, rinsed and picked over
1 cup chopped sweet onion
3/4 cup chopped celery
3/4 cup chopped carrot
1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
1 small russet potato, peeled and chopped into 1/2-inch cubes
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 (14 ounces) fully cooked package of kielbasa, cut into 1/4-inch-thick medallion pieces
Directions:
1. In a 5-quart slow cooker. Add all ingredients and stir. Cook on high for 6 hours. Stir and add more chicken broth for thickness to your liking.
